Seth Vidaña is the Climate and Energy Manager for the City of Bellingham and is responsible for implementation of the City’s Climate Action Plan and associated programs with the aim of reaching an 80% reduction in community carbon pollution by 2050. Prior to coming to the City, Seth worked at Western Washington University where he founded the Office of Sustainability, became its first sustainability officer, and created several campus sustainability programs over the course of 13 years. He launched Washington's first higher education sustainability consortium in 2012 and acted as co-chair until 2019. He's been employed as a high school teacher, museum educator, custodian, Park Service ranger, pedicab driver, and created Bellingham's first and last bike-powered composting business.
