Biography

William (Bill) Hurley has served the marine industry for over 40 years, specializing in commercial vessel design and construction. He has participated in all aspects of naval architecture work, managing new design programs and major vessel conversions. He has successfully applied his project management and leadership skills to diverse and complex projects with large stakeholder organizations.

Bill has been recognized by the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers receiving the Vice Admiral Emory S. “Jerry” Land Medal in 2016 for outstanding accomplishment in the marine field. And also the University of Michigan Department of Naval Architecture, receiving the Michigan- Rosenblatt Award for Outstanding Professional Achievement in Research Vessel Design in 2006

Bill currently is actively involved in the offshore wind industry and specifically deep-water wind turbine foundations and the PelaStar TLP foundation. He supports the business development activity of PelaStar LLC, a subsidiary of Glosten, Inc., and serves as an advisor to the Glosten Board of Directors.

Once an active sailor racing offshore and for 22 years he campaigned his boat in a Pacific Northwest one-design fleet, he now enjoys downhill skiing and cycling with his wife in Europe and throughout the Northwest.
