WWU Energy Certificates (Non-Degree)
Overview
Our energy-focused certificates are designed to enable a wide range of non-traditional students, as well as matriculated (degree-seeking) WWU students, to complete coursework on timely, practical topics offered by the Institute for Energy Studies.

Information for WWU Students

Energy and Environment Certificate (17 credits)
The goal of the Energy and Environment Certificate is to give students knowledge and analytic skills in the environmental science, technology and policy aspects of today’s diverse energy systems and industries.
Energy Economics Certificate (16 credits)
The goal of the Energy Economics Certificate is to give students knowledge, analytic skills and an understanding of the basic business and economic concepts associated with the formation and analysis of energy-related policies, programs and incentives.
Energy in the Built Environment Certificate (17 credits)
The goal of the Energy in the Built Environment Certificate is to give students knowledge and analytic skills in the science, technology and business aspects of energy systems, environmental quality and the energy efficiency resource in buildings.
Energy Policy Certificate (17 credits)
The goal of the Energy Policy Certificate is to give students knowledge and an understanding of the basic economic, law and public policy issues associated with the formation and analysis of energy-related policies, programs and incentives.
Energy Policy Certificate (graduate) (16 credits)
The goal of the Energy Policy Certificate (graduate) is to give students knowledge and an understanding of the basic economic, law and public policy issues associated with the formation and analysis of energy-related policies, programs and incentives.
Northwest Electric Energy Systems Certificate (16 credits)
The goal of the Certificate in Northwest Electric Energy Systems is to give students knowledge and analytic skills in the science, technology, economics and public policy and planning issues associated with the development of electric energy systems, with an emphasis on the specific technology and policy context of the Pacific Northwest.
Northwest Electric Energy Systems Certificate (graduate) (16 credits)
The goal of the Certificate in Northwest Electric Energy Systems (graduate) is to give students knowledge and analytic skills in the science, technology, economics and public policy and planning issues associated with the development of electric energy systems at the graduate level, with an emphasis on the specific technology and policy context of the Pacific Northwest.
