About

My research interests include decarbonization, demand response, and equity considerations in electricity system planning and renewable energy integration with a regional focus in the Pacific Northwest (PNW) and China.

I currently have funding to support a M.S. student in Energy-Environment Systems in the Environmental Science department with a teaching assistantship for two years assuming the student makes adequate progress toward their degree.

The prospective student would work on a project utilizing socioeconomic, geospatial, and renewable technology data to develop an optimization tool and inform decarbonization efforts in the PNW, and the United States more broadly. Depending on their experience, the student is expected to be familiar with energy modeling and/or geospatial data management and processing and/or programming in R or Python.
